The song written by Buzz Cason and Mac Gayden, originally a 1967 hit for Robert Knight and since remade numerous times, most successfully by the Love Affair, as well as Town Criers, Carl Carlton, Sandra, and Gloria Estefan.
"Everlasting Love" is one of two songs to become a Billboard Hot 100 Top 40 hit in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s (the other being "The Way You Do the Things You Do") and the only song to become a UK Top 40 hit in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.
