On most pressings of High Adventure and on some Loggins greatest hits compilation albums, it is officially titled simply "Heartlight". The title was expanded to "Welcome to Heartlight" to avoid confusion with Neil Diamond's song also called "Heartlight".
One of Loggins' oddest songs, the title refers to a now-defunct private school for kids in Los Angeles called the Heartlight School. The song was inspired by writings of students at the school that Kenny read, including a story called "I like the love." The Heartlight School Singers and Dancers are in the chorus.
